Funeral of Mrs. Gold Laird
To Be Thursday.
Mrs. Golda Geraldine Dickason
Laird, 51, 818 Merkle avenue,
mother of three men in service,
died yesterday at 5 p.m. in City
hospital. She had been bedfast for
the last two weeks.
The sons in service are Lloyd
Laird of Lowe Field, Tex., Earl
Laird of the U. S. medical corps,
stationed at Camp Pickett, Va., and
Pearl Laird of the chemical war-
fare division, stationed at Fort
Bliss, Tex.
Mrs. Laird was born at Cale-
donia on Aug. 29, 1891, to Isaac
L. Dickason, a native of LaRue,
and Inez Leona Dickason, a native
of Big Island township. Ernest
William Laird, to whom she was
married in Marion in 1912, pre-
ceded her in death on Dec. 20,
1923.
She was a member of the Agosta
Methodist church.
Other surviving children are
Edwin L. Laird, Ruth Inez Laird,
and Robert Eugene, of Marion. Al-
so surviving are four sisters, Mrs.
Edna Rowley of 151 Dix avenue,
Mrs. Louise [sic] Roux of Agosta, Mrs.
Ada Beyers of 1081 Uncapher ave-
nue and Miss Esther Dickason of
458 East Center street.
The funeral will be conducted
Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Merle
H. Hughes funeral home on Mt.
Vernon avenue by Rev. A. M.
Hood of Second Pilgrim Holiness
church. Burial will be made in
LaRue cemetery. Friends may
call at the home after 10 a.m.
Tuesday and at the funeral home
after 10 a.m. Thursday.

MARION - Earle William Laird, age 85, of Marion, passed away early
Saturday morning, Dec. 23, 2006, at Triumph Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio.
Born in Dexter, Mo., on Dec. 2, 1921, to Earnest and Golda (Dickison)
Laird, he married the former Ethyl Taylor on Oct. 2, 1945, and she
survives at home.
Earle served his country as a member of the United States Army during
World War II. He had been employed by Signal Delivery as a driver and
has been retired for almost 20 years. An avid golfer and member of
Hickory Grove Golf Club, Earle was also a life member of both V.F.W.
Post No. 3313 and B.P.O.E. No. 32 and also belonged to Marion Moose
Lodge No. 889 and American Legion Post No. 162.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Pearl "Roger" Laird, and
three other brothers, Edwin, Lloyd and Robert. Along with his wife, he
is survived by his two sons; Larry (Kathy) Laird of Marion, and Stephen
(Carol) Laird of Jacksonville, Fla.; his sister, Ruthe Laird Cooper of
Marion; his three grandchildren, Christopher Laird, Jennifer Laird and
Phillip (Maggie) Laird; and his two great-grandchildren; Alex and Grady.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Evangelical
Lutheran Church with Rev. Craig F. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow
in the Marion Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the
Marion County Joint Veteran's Council. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday
at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements for his
family.

Sunday morning at St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in
Warren, Ohio on June 30, 1926 to Frank and Alice Elizabeth (Moscrop)
Taylor, she was one of 8 children. She married Earle W. Laird on October
2, 1945 and they were married for 61 years until the time of his death
in December, 2006. Ethyl was retired from the O.B.E.S. office and was an
avid bowler and golfer. She loved her church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
in Marion and was a devoted member for 76 years. Ethyl also was a member
of the Women of the Moose. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters;
Virginia and Juanita and one brother; Frank. Surviving are her two sons;
Larry (Kathy) Laird of Marion, Steve (Carol) Laird of Florida, 3
grandchildren; Christopher Laird, Jennifer Laird and Phillip (Maggie)
Laird, 2 great- grandchildren; Alex and Grady and 5 brothers; Raymond
Taylor, William Taylor, Charles Taylor, Tom Taylor and Ralph Taylor.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church in Marion with Rev. Craig Lewis officiating. Burial will follow

brothers, Richard Wilson of Bucyrus, Paul Laird of Germany; two sisters,
Susan (Randall) Holley of Pittsfield, Mass., Kathy Laird of Bucyrus; and
father-in-law Clinton R. Call of Lancaster.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Kassie
Kent.
An area resident her entire life, she was a 1969 graduate of Bucyrus
High School and later graduated with an associates degree in accounting
from the Mansfield Business College. She had worked as a medical billing
specialist for Mansfield Neurology for the past 18 years. Janet was a
member and Sunday school teacher of the Christian Life Fellowship in
Bucyrus. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the
Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where services will be Thursday, Nov. 2,
2006, at 11 a.m. with
Pastor Manzo Surgener and her sister, Kathy Laird, officiating. Burial
will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Edwin C. "Edd" Greene, 22, of Bucyrus died Thursday in Colorado Springs
following a motorcycle accident.
Edd was born in Bucyrus to Richard Greene, who lives in Bucyrus, and the
late Janet (Laird) Greene. He graduated from Bucyrus High School in 2002
and was attending classes at the National American University of
Colorado Springs. On July 8, 2003, he married Leslie Ann Lowmiller, who
survives.
Edd served with the U.S. Army from 2003 to 2007. He worked as an Army
tanker and was stationed in Iraq as well as Korea; completing his
service time in Colorado Springs, Colo. He had attended the First Church
of the Nazarene in Bucyrus and was a member of AMVETS Post 27 in
Bucyrus.
In addition to his wife and father, Edd is survived by two brothers,
Duane (Stacey) Greene of Pennsylvania and Michael Greene of Oceola; two
sisters, April (Chauncey) Bragg of Georgia, and Angie Greene of Bucyrus;
a paternal stepgrandfather, Clinton Ray Call of Lancaster; mother and
father-in-law, David and Tamera Lowmiller of Bucyrus; one sister-in-law,
Julie Lowmiller of Bucyrus. along with many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Edd is preceded in death by his maternal and
paternal grandparents and one niece.
His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Wise Funeral
Service, where the funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the
Rev. Dr. Ray LaSalle officiating. Following the funeral there will be a
processional to Oakwood Cemetery, where military rites will be observed
by the American Legion, Colonel Crawford Post 181.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be
made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation through the funeral home. Expressions
